Easter High Tea
This year’s Easter event will be a special high tea in the beautiful old windmill called “de Hoop” in Bavel.
A high tea would not be complete without a colourful selection of sweet and savoury treats as well as different flavours of tea and of course coffee if you prefer.
The regular price for the high tea is €25 per person. IWC will sponsor €10 for each attending member. The cost for each member is €15. Please RSVP in time as late registration will not be possible.
Please list any dietary requirements or restrictions you may have on the registration form. Free parking is conveniently available on site.

Museum Park Rotterdam
Museum Visit
Depot Boijmans van Beuningen
We have booked a guided tour in the Rotterdam Museum Depot which is the world’s first publicly accessible art storage facility.
Visitors can see the result of 173 years of collecting! More than 151,000 objects are housed together, arranged in fourteen storage compartments with five different climates.
Next to the objects, all the activities that go into preserving and managing a collection are on open display in the building.

Coffee Morning

Johannes Vermeer
Vermeer Guided Tour, Markt Delft
Johannes Vermeer lived his whole life in Delft and was famous in the town. In his lifetime he enjoyed little fame, but today he is one of the most famous painters of the 17th century.
We will meet in Delft at de Markt in front of the Nieuwe Kerk. Then we will embark on a tour that will take us to the various places in the city where this famous master painter lived and worked.
After the tour, for those interested, we can visit the Vermeer Centrum where we can learn about all his works and the techniques he used in his paintings.

MahJong Daytime Group
Every other Tuesday the MahJong group members get together to play against each other in groups of 3 or 4 .
Coffee and tea are served and each time a few members bring a potluck dish to share for lunch.
If you are unfamiliar with the game you are welcome to attend as a spectator to learn. Mahjong is a popular and very social IWC activity. We welcome enthusiastic new participants. The more the merrier!

Cooking Club
In April, the Cooking Club is having a potluck outdoor picnic. All IWC ladies are welcome to participate.
Hopefully the weather will be dry with a pleasant spring temperature. Members should each bring a small portion of picnic food to share, preferably self-made.
The beautiful location chosen for our picnic is a short drive from the area of the Breda ice-skating rink and Makro. There are two picnic tables and benches, tree shade, lovely view with boats and water.
Free parking is only 50 meters away in front of house address “Haven 8, 4844 DB Terheijden”. Come and enjoy this social outdoor activity in April.

As the oldest city palace in the Netherlands, the Markiezenhof is one of Brabant’s four official top historical monuments. We will visit the exhibition “If Clothes Could Talk.” A unique exhibition with work from movie producer Funda Erzade and fashion designer Rosalie Boonstra.

3D Plaster Relief Workshop
We will make a small canvas with the 3D plastering technique.
We can use all sorts of items to make a painting in relief. To get an idea of the possibilities you can check on the internet for 3D plaster painting on canvas.
The costs for this workshop will be divided between the participants with a maximum cost of €15. Being this creative is bound to make you hungry! Feel free to bring your own lunch and a smock to cover your cloths.

We will visit the exhibition ‘Connected Freedom’ by Ans Markus where she showcases work from her ‘Tolerance & Respect” series. Included in the exhibition is the large, attention grabbing oil painting of 150 young women and men. The work is a demonstration of the artists craftsmanship, quality, and deep connection to the world.

This activity will require a one hour commute by car to the Oogenlust showroom in Eersel. We will have an opportunity to browse the beautiful creations up close and explore the facility. After we take in the enchanting beauty at Oogenlust we will finish our day with a nice lunch in Eersel before heading back to Breda.
This event is limited the participation of 8 members. If there are more than 8 members that would like to attend we can review the limit. It is estimated that we will arrive back in Breda around 16:00 depending on traffic.
Carpooling is available and and we respectfully ask members to pay €5 to their designated driver.

November is a good month to have an indoor evening activity with your partner or a friend. We have booked 2 Jeu de Boules lanes for 2 hours at BoulesBitesBar Breda, which offers a combination of Jeu de Boules, food, drinks and “gezelligheid” in an urban ambiance.
A maximum of 16 people can sign up for this activity on a first come first serve basis. If more than 16 members are interested we may be able to book an extra lane, but that is not guaranteed.
