Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen is the first publicly accessible art depot in the world. The depot is located in the Rotterdam Museum Park. Visitors see the result of 173 years of collecting. More than 152,000 collected works of art are stored together, arranged and structured in fourteen depot spaces with five climates. In addition to the objects, all the activities involved in the management and maintenance of a collection can be seen.
IWC took a tour of this special place in April. The ladies are wearing dust jackets to prevent contamination of the restoration areas during the tour.
