On a sunny day graced by perfect weather, the International Women’s Club Breda gathered to celebrate an incredible milestone — our 55th anniversary! With excitement in the air and the sun shining down, the celebration began the best way possible: with coffee, cake, and candles, surrounded by 30 of our wonderful members.

After weeks of secret planning, the big reveal finally came: a scenic tour through the beautiful countryside of Prinsenbeek in two charming covered wagons pulled by Belgian draft horses. Along for the ride was Arnold, a local farmer and passionate nature advocate, who entertained us with fascinating insights about the nearby Noordrand-Midden nature reserve and the efforts being made to protect this vital, water-rich landscape.
Halfway through the journey, we paused for a toast — what’s a celebration without champagne? At a picturesque riverside spot by the Mark, we raised our glasses and indulged in exquisite artisan macarons from Le Mouton in Wassenaar. A true treat!

Lunch followed at the cozy House of Barns, where one of our members had beautifully prepared the tables, each set with a personalised water carafe as a lovely take-home gift. The afternoon was filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt conversations — a perfect reflection of the spirit of our club.

We returned home with full hearts and fond memories. From those who were with us to those who celebrated in spirit, thank you for being a part of IWC Breda’s rich history. Here’s to 55 years of connection, culture, and community — and many more to come!
