October Highlight: Guided Tour of the Liesbos

October brought us closer to nature with a captivating Guided Tour of the Liesbos, one of the most enchanting forests in our region. This event was undoubtedly the highlight of the month, offering a perfect blend of history, nature, and camaraderie.

Our group gathered on a crisp autumn day, ready to explore the Liesbos, located just outside Breda. Did you know that the Liesbos is the largest old-growth deciduous forest in the Netherlands? Its history dates back to the Middle Ages, and it was once part of the royal hunting grounds. The forest is known for its stunning beech trees, some of which are centuries old, and its diverse wildlife, including deer, foxes, and a variety of bird species.

Led by a knowledgeable guide, we learned about the forest’s unique ecosystem and historical significance. The colorful fall foliage provided a stunning backdrop, making every step a visual treat.

After the tour, we took a moment to relax and enjoy refreshments, exchanging thoughts about the experience and marveling at the beauty we had just witnessed. It was a day of discovery, connection, and inspiration—truly a highlight of October.
